a day of digital encounters
This year, given the current climate of COVID-19 and the uncertainty students are currently facing, it was even more important to provide access to careers and education opportunities advice.
Following the success of last year's Future Stars event, we were able to make #GBFutureStars 2020 even more accessible, creating an entirely digital experience.
Students were able to engage with fantastic keynote presentations from Stacey Copeland, Oli Yonchev, Dr Radha Mogil and Kamal Ellis-Hyman, and participate in interactive booths and activities from our amazing sponsors, including the University of Southampton, UCL, GSK, Sage and the NBS.
Feedback was fantastic, with over 5,000 student engagements on the day. The event also allowed us to gain important insight into young people's views, fears, concerns and ambitions in the current climate.
With 130 schools and colleges registering for the event, #GBFutureStars reached students from all across the UK and internationally.
Students at #GBFutureStars gained immense value from the day, interacting with and accessing resources from top employers and educational institutions, with hands on digital activities and exciting video content.
"It was incredibly useful to learn about all the companies and what they offer as well as the resources given which can give a huge boost when applying. The event overall was engaging and I thoroughly enjoyed it"
